Home briefly!

This is a link to some photos of Aria. We think she is rather beautiful. She is such a great baby, hardly cries and has a wonderful temperament.

Home again briefly....

The district nurse came to look at our house and assess it for our new baby needs. We need to find space for an extra fridge and a surface that can be sterile for setting up Aria's 'feed' each day. We are busy learning how to 'scrub up' and be sterile. It is really hard actually, if you touch something or a single hair falls in the wrong place you have to start again. But we are definatly getting there!!!

Our good friend Daniel has offered to help us set up a proper website for Aria's ongoing updates- will keep you posted. We have had several people offer to help us with stuff and it is really heartwarming. Fundraising is the big issue although we are going to leave it until we get home to properly put our heads into it. It is a bit scary having to raise such a huge amount of cash but we are looking to God to provide:)

Aria is smiling and we manage to catch it on camera, will try and be clever and post a photo soon.

We are home for the night - Nana Mac is staying the night with Aria.

It feels so great to be home. As we where driving in to Manurewa I just wanted to give it a big hug. I miss home so much. Our current 'hang outs' are the Domain and Newmarket. Aria is off her IV line for 2 hours a day so we go for walks and it is really nice but I find the surroundings a bit uncomfortable. You don't realise how much you love your home and town until you are taken out of it.

Ok so Manurewa is hardly the nicest place in the world and it can be a bit depressing at times. But it is what it is. What you see is what you get and it is comfortable- no false airs and graces or expensive cars driving around to make you feel, well, poor pretty much.

We should be home week beginning the 7th of August. Daily life shouldn't be to bad. Aria should be 'disconnected' for 4 hours a day meaning we can go out. Her pump is portable so we should be able to take her out even when she is. By 6 months she should be only connected for 12 hours at night.

The future is still a dark cloud for us and scary. It is so hard not being able to think of your daughter as a one year old or starting school or getting married. Everyday is a battle to trust God but we do. Mind over matter really.

BTW- do people still blog? Does anyone read this? I will keep blogging anyway cause it is a good way to communicate to everyone.
