My stuff I was chatting to my neighbour yesterday who mentioned that the paperchase guys have been using our outside tap and leaving our gate open. It was good to have the mystery solved as to why our gate is open when we get home. But my first reaction to the news that someone had been coming on to our property and using our tap was 'how rude of them'. But then I thought about it a bit more, if I was home they would be more than welcome to have a drink. Those guys must get really hot and thirsty running around in the heat in the middle of the day. So what is the difference if I am not home? The difference is that in our society we have fences and boarders and personal space, you don't cross those without permission. But how does that fit in with the concept that our stuff is not our own but God's? If God is watching over us then we don't have to be worried about who uses what when we aren't home. It means we can relax a little bit, not meaning to leave your windows and doors unlocked, but not being so worried about 'our stuff'. It is all fuel for the fire. Anita posted at 9:56 am |
