This is a strange phenomenon that I have never really understood. It is my assumption that most women don't actually like facial hair (beards) in particular on a man. Yet so many guys I know have beards. The trend seems that single guys have beards and married men don't. I am talking men in their twenties. I think I would have a few things to say in the spirit of submission if Hamish decided to grow a beard. I admit that older men with the closely cropped beards look cool and distinguished. Do single men have beards because they don’t have a women suggesting otherwise? I have had the theory of laziness submitted to me as a possible reason for beard growing amoung young men. Interesting thought really- quite the opposite of the female mindset. Most single women are mindful of their appearance and make the effort to look presentable to the possible male suitor. I will post this and await your feedback with interest.

Well that week went very fast! In case you are wondering, yes I did do some work in the garden. It is looking a bit better and I planted some basil, cherry tomatoes and a mini rose plant in a cool black pot with white pebbles to cover the soil. Unfortunately Hamish got stuck with the task of weeding which isn't so much fun. A week later I am pleased to report that the basil and toms are growing nicely and there is a rose that is starting to open!

STEPS is having a games night tonight with the Covenant youth group. I am really looking forward to it, we have some cool games, some involving chocolate which is all good.

Anyway I hope to get better at this blogging thing and post more regularly. I was planing to blog about a certain subject this week but couldn't seem to log on. So stay tuned.

I better jet, I am off to get some breakfast, do some shopping and go for a walk with my good buddy Christy.

Till next time, I am Anita MacDonald, say hi to your Mum for me.

Well another week has passed, rather quickly, too quickly I think. Time is flying by and sometimes it is really easy to get caught up in the day to day running of life and you can slip into 'just-getting-by' mode. I have started to reflect on this year and if it really has been a success. I remember ages ago (St Andrews days) Ross Brightwell preached a new years sermon. He said that you would know if you have been successful this year if you have been increasingly sanctified and experienced a deepening in your relationship with Christ. Often we don't think of success in this way, but rather whether we got that promotion or passed that exam.

Anyway, it is Labour weekend! Woohoo! I am going to work on my embarrassing garden and plant some stuff. I hope you have a great weekend
